Montpelier Salon Transforms into the "Best of the Best"

On June 1st, Salon Performance manager Tess Onorato became the owner of the business at Capitol Plaza, 100 State Street in Montpelier, and immediately brought about the changes she had dreamed about.

"My plan was to bring the area's best people, best services and products in the beauty industry, into a salon that was conveniently located for central Vermont customers," explains Onorato, adding "Instead of a salon you previously travelled to Burlington for."

Hence the name change to Signature Styles as the benchmark of the best in salon services and products.

"We're the premier full service salon in Montpelier. We offer everything from straightening and facials to makeup, nails and lash tinting," relates Onorato, a stylist who herself has 30 years in the industry.

Joining Tess from the previous business are independent top stylists Jennifer Lincoln and Darlene Harrington. Pop creative stylist Nikki Lafreniere and established stylist Blythe Bates complete the team of independents that can work with clients of any age or special needs, including ethnic styling.

Although the Signature Styles staff are independents, they all pledge to be the best in their trade, attending classes and staying up to date on products, technology, and services. "Everyone pays attention to detail," points out Lincoln.

"Signature Styles is totally ammonia free, which means our colors and perms leave hair with a healthy and natural feeling - plus a pleasant smelling environment inside our salon," relate the stylists.

Only using and selling the very best products is also the signature trademark of licensed esthetician and makeup artist Rosa Buzzi, who joined the Signature Styles team from Puerto Rico. Buzzi offers a comprehensive menu of facials targeting special needs, and working with MD Formulations, a medical grade line that is all natural and fragrance-free, she can successfully treat acne-prone skin and rosacea.

Signature Styles is also the area's headquarters for Bare Escentuals makeup - the only 100% pure mineral makeup on the market (since 1974), that leaves skin looking airbrushed and flawless.

In addition, Signature Styles carries MD Formulations Skincare, Pureology Haircare (100% vegan), CHI, OPI, and Matrix home products. "And our Pureology line holds color five times longer than any other brand - we really did our homework!"

Rounding out the Signature Styles independent team is nail technician Sally Miller, with over 20 years experience offering acrylic or gel, as well as traditional manicures and pedicures.

"I am thrilled to have Sally with us," says Onorato, adding "I really do feel Signature Styles offers the best of the best."

"We think we have the perfect location for all our services at the Capitol Plaza, a much desired facility for weddings and special functions, and visitors to the city." "To see someone walk out of here after using our services and really looking good is our greatest joy," relates Onorato, with Bates adding "If you look good, you feel good."

"Women in this area are more savvy in their appearance, and that's why we know we'll be successful," adds Lafreniere. "And we'll have fun doing it. There's lots of positive energy here!"
